Kangwon National University, founded in 1947 and granted national-university status in 1978, is one of South Korea's ten Flagship National Universities, operating campuses in Chuncheon, Gangneung, Samcheok and Wonju.
It is the largest partner on this list with over 38,000 students, teaching Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Agriculture and Life Sciences, with a Korean language and culture programme.
Scale is the point here: a national university of this size carries subject depth and research facilities a smaller campus cannot, at national-university fee levels.
Four campuses across Gangwon mean a programme can be matched to a location rather than the other way round.
